Ron Haeckel is a retired Air Force Brigadier General with over 30 years’ experience in space and missile operations with the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Energy (DoE), where he managed a budget of $6.4 billion and assets of $30 billion as the head of nuclear energy for the United States.
Haeckel brings extensive experience in strategic planning, policy formulation, operational planning and program management of major strategic initiatives for Homeland Defense/Security, Department of Energy, cyberspace, and aerospace operations to the Joi Scientific team.
Since 2008 Haeckel has worked as senior associate with the Durango Group and TechSource, Inc., where he provides expertise in space, cyberspace and nuclear planning and operations to the U.S. Air Force Headquarters and Air Force Space Command including independent analysis of the most complex reorganization in recent U.S. Air Force history.
Since 2007 he has also served as senior management consultant with TechSource, Inc. where he specializes in nuclear and security planning and operations for the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration.
From 2001 to 2005, Haeckel was Deputy for Defense Programs with National Nuclear Security Administration where he was the senior military officer (USAF Brigadier General) assigned to the Department of Energy.
Previously, he was Deputy Director of Plans with U.S. Space Command, where he developed plans, policy doctrine, strategy and operational requirements for space missions and ballistic missile defense. He has also served as Commander with Air Force Space Command.
Haeckel has a MBA from North Dakota and a BA in Mathematics from University of Missouri in St. Louis.
