Jesus Remón

Jesus Remon brings significant depth to Joi Scientific, in both risk management and in strategies relevant to utility power companies. He spent over 20 years in the energy sector spanning operations, risk management, project development, finance, and energy trading.

Remón is President and founder of My 4 Rules, a telehealth company providing HIPAA compliant, one-on-one, disease management services to diabetes and obese populations. Over the last 30 years Remón, an entrepreneur, has also founded a commercial insurance brokerage, energy development and consulting firm.

His clients include large electric utilities and manufacturers, mid-size companies, sovereign countries, private investment groups, state financing agencies and the U.S. federal government. He has worked domestically and with clients in Latin America, Europe, China and Africa. Assignments have included:

  • New York Power Authority for extra high voltage transmission projects including planning and operations
  • New York Independent System Operator for real time  optimization and operations of New York’s Energy System including real-time contingency analysis, financial optimization and coordination with neighboring power systems throughout the Northeast
  • Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) for the design and procurement of Mexico’s national, regional and local energy dispatch centers
  • NP Energy for Greenfield development of 500 MW energy complex including negotiation of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts and negotiation of associated long-term (20+ year) Power Purchase Agreements.
  • East China Electric Power Group Corporation (Shanghai) for development of original guidelines for optimization scheme of planned 300 MW Pumped storage hydroelectric complex

Remón is civically active in Miami and the state of Florida. Remón is civically active in Miami and the state of Florida. He is a member of Leadership Florida (Class XXVIII), has been a commissioner with the North Miami Planning Commission, a member of the Government Relations Board of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF), and past Chairman of the Board of Bayview Center for Mental Health.

He holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and has an MBA in Finance.
